基本設計有限公司:黃明威建築師事務所成立於台灣台中，西元2003年。專注於開發建築及設計領域的多樣性及可能性。設計作品多以融合都市條件及地景涵構形成的基本空間型態為主，藉以探討並尋求新的空間內容組成方式。主持人黃明威出生於西元1967年，畢業於美國哈佛大學建築研究所及台灣東海大學建築系。現任教於東海大學建築系所。近作包括東海大學人文大樓（獲2004年遠東傑出建築獎「校園特別獎」第二名、2005年台灣建築獎佳作）、國家財團法人同步輻射研究中心增建計劃（2006/04完成）、台北大直美麗華誠品書店（2004/11完成）以及台北市文德派出所（興建中）等。
Studiobase Architects is a young architectural firm based in Taichung, Taiwan, and was founded in 2003. It operates in the full width of the architectural and design domain. Works are mostly focused on the development of spatial prototypes that integrate local urban conditions and contextual landscape. This exploration finds its results also in seeking new ways of architectural programming. Ming-Wei Huang (born 1967) graduated from Harvard GSD with M. Arch., and B. Arch from Tunghai University, Taiwan, has taught in National Chiao-Tung University, Graduate Institute of Architecture. Recent projects include Humanities Building in Tunghai University (won the second prize of 2004 FEIDAD Award, and the 2005 Taiwan Architecture Award), extension for National Syncrotron Radiation Research Center (first prize in competition, under construction), the Eslite Bookstore in Taipei Miramar Mall, and Wen-Teh Police Station in Taipei.
