The spatial environment is the most important factor affecting the quality of human life, no matter in the work, home or public space, good quality of spatial environment can directly or indirectly provide us with a pleasant feeling in the spirit and substance, and can promote the group life in the social direction of mutual communication. The type of industrial building can be said to be an exemplar of the famous saying “form follows function” (form follows function). Since the Industrial Revolution, the design has been subject to the constraints of the dogma of mechanical civilization; production capacity is the main demand, and the efficiency of technical services is the index, ignoring the quality of space for the staff to work here, as well as cutting off the quality of space for the staff to work. The design has been constrained by the dogma of mechanical civilization since the Industrial Revolution. Therefore, in this project, the reconstruction of the mutual links between people and industrial buildings, as well as between people and the environment, has become the goal of our design.

I. How to make industrial buildings “public”?
How to create an “optimized” working environment?
How to respond to the challenge of “extreme environment”?
